Suz! Mole is a fused glass artist from Pawleys Island, South Carolina.  She creates sculptural and functional art by kiln-firing glass.

A native of North Carolina, Suz! earned her M.I.M. Degree from Thunderbird International Graduate School in Glendale, Arizona, and lived out west for the last 30 years.  She has worked in various art media, including paper arts, collage, and metalworking, but her true love is kiln-fired glass.  She sells her one-of-a-kind and colorful glass art to galleries throughout the U.S. and has created commissioned pieces for private homes in Utah.  In 2001, The Kimball Art Center, in Park City, Utah, honored her with a one-woman gallery exhibit.  More recently (Fall, 2007), The Cleveland County Arts Council asked her to participate in a three-person exhibit entitled "Back To Their Roots."  One of Suz's new sculptural pieces entitled "Low Tide" will be exhibited at the Art Museum of Myrtle Beach April 30-May 22, 2009.  She has also been invited to participate in the Brookgreen Gardens' "Artists Under the Arcade" event in June, 2009.

A recent move to Pawleys Island, South Carolina from Park City, Utah has motivated Suz! to create more flowing mixed media/fused glass sculpture.  During her daily beach walks, Suz! finds dried ocean coral, shells, sea urchins, and even the elusive (for Pawleys Island) sand dollar!  She then incorporates her treasures into her fused glass pieces.  The resulting bowls, sculptures, and wall hangings preserve the organic beauty of her beach treasures.  She also continues to create one-of-a-kind functional and decorative bowls, ornaments, and wearable art.

"During my years out west, I had the opportunity to travel extensively in Austrailia and throughout Asia, even living in Tokyo, Japan for five years.  I became increasingly aware of the local arts culture in each community.  Color in art has a life of its own.  As I learn about the Gullah Community here in the South Carolina Low Country, I feel that I am finally 'home' with others who love colors the way I do!  I have begun to incorporate the infinite variety of colors I see everyday during my beach walks into my fused glass work.  This is an exciting new journey for me, and I am thrilled to be able to share it with you!  Each of my creations, large or small is a gift from me to you.

A smile, a laugh, a good feeling in the pit of your stomach ... that's what I aim for!"
